• Avoiding ICL Complications with Proper UBM Imaging Description: UBM allows measurement of the sulcus-to-sulcus (STS) diameter for ICL sizing. However, proper landmarks must be present for the UBM to be of value. In this discussion, a case is presented in which a patient received an excessively long ICL based on white-to-white (WTW) and suffered complications of pupillary block, elevated IOP, and an excessive vault. A UBM was obtained, but without the proper landmarks would have resulted in a second size mismatch and further complications. Submitted by Dr. Roberto Rivera (United States).
