• Brunescent Brown to Black Hard Rock Cataract, Vertical Chopping. Dr. Ashraf Armia Description: A male patient, 89 years old. Brunescent hard rock cataract. Specular microscopy revealed 1655 cell density. Vertical chopping was the technique I used in these type of cases with not full devision of the nucleus as will be shown in the video. CDE was 18.6 at the end of the case. Double shell technique was used (Cohesive under a coat of high visco dispersive OVD).
